
Biography

Born in 1990 in Rwanda, Divine Gashugi known under her pen name Tete Loeper is a writer, communication consultant, and creative social entrepreneur. She studied Journalism and Communications after surviving the Genocide against Tutsi by living in the refugee camps of Congo (DRC) and Burundi . This tragic experience inspires her to engage in peace building projects and political education.
Her work explores a range of topics related to migration, intercultural communication, anti racism, creative political education, women empowerment, peace building and healing.
Next to her writing career, Tete Loeper is the co-founder of Sisters for Sustainable Impact (SISI), a Rwandan based social enterprise empowering vulnerable rural women through reproductive health, agriculture and financial literacy. She is also the board member of The Grey Stories e.V, a collaborative non profit organisation of artists from Germany, Rwanda, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Burundi.
Tete Loeper lives in the Germany and works globally. She speaks fluent Kinyarwanda, French, English and German.
